Fitting Procedure
- Close raw water through-hull.
- Loosen cover to drain pump and check water not flooding.
- Remove cover fully.
- Check / photograph direction of vanes.
- Pull old impeller out using pliers.
- If any vanes have broken up, remove the pieces. These should be in the hose to the heat-exchanger. Pull hose from both ends and flush with water.
- Smear glycerine lube on all surfaces and O-ring.
- Fit new O-ring.
- Fitting assisted by depressing vanes with a cable-tie.
- Push new impeller on to shaft.
- Cut and remove cable-tie.
- Refit pump cover ensuring clean fit over O-ring.
- Open raw water through-hull and start engine.
- Check exhaust for water flow.
- Run engine for a while to check its not overheating.
