Fuel Treatment Plant

During the delivery from Queensland there were problems with the engine and its fuel system. This required a new filter and a high-pressure pump rebuild and it was all down to fuel contamination, the ominous Black Death.
To stop this happening again,I built a fuel treatment plant with the following features:
There were a few design criteria that I wanted for the Fuel Treatment Plant:
  • Multistage filtration to 2 micron.
  • Ability to swap out a filter while the engine is running.
  • A manual purge-pump to displace any air in the fuel lines up to the engine.
  • Ability to bypass the filters if the engine seems to be starved of fuel and you really do need it to save your life.
  • A fuel-polishing mode whereby the fuel is passed through the filter and directly back to the tank.
